ENDORSED BY

Welcome note from the SEMI Delhi President
President's Message

Dear Colleagues, Friends, and the Emergency Medicine Community,
It is with immense pride and excitement that I invite you all to EMCON 2025, the Annual Conference of the Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI), taking place from November 1-3, 2025, in New Delhi. This year, we unite under a theme that resonates deeply with the essence of Emergency Medicine:
“Communication, Sustainability, and Community Wellness.”
At its core, Emergency Medicine is not just about saving lives—it is about safeguarding communities. The Emergency Department serves as the safety net of healthcare, ensuring that no patient in crisis is turned away, regardless of time, condition, or circumstance. Our specialty extends beyond resuscitation and acute care; it is about creating a system that is accessible, reliable, and responsive to the needs of society.
Communication: The Bridge Between Chaos and Care
Every decision in Emergency Medicine is time-sensitive, and every second counts. However, beyond speed and skill, the power of effective communication is what defines the best emergency teams. Whether it is a trauma resuscitation, a code blue, or breaking bad news to a family, the ability to convey critical information with clarity, compassion, and precision can make all the difference.
Sustainability: Building Resilient Emergency Systems
Sustainability in emergency medicine is not just about conserving resources—it is about creating systems that last. The increasing burden on emergency departments, resource constraints, and climate-related health emergencies demand that we rethink the way we provide emergency care. Whether it is efficient triaging inn overburdened emergency rooms, integrating technology to bridge rural-urban gaps in providing emergency care, making emergency healthcare environmentally responsible while ensuring patient safety.
Community Wellness: The Heartbeat of Emergency Medicine
Emergency care is not confined to hospital walls—it is a lifeline that strengthens the fabric of public health. From pre-hospital care and bystander education to disaster preparedness and rural healthcare outreach, emergency medicine plays a pivotal role in shaping healthier communities.
We see it every day—the elderly patient with chest pain who needs not just immediate care but also long-term follow-up; the child with an asthma attack who requires not just oxygen but also preventive education; the accident victim who needs not just trauma care but also a safer infrastructure in their community. We are not just treating emergencies; we are preventing them, learning from them, and improving systems to minimize their impact. We emphasize emergency medicine is pillar of wellness and just not reactive in crisis.
EMCON 2025 will provide a platform to discuss innovative models, best practices, and research-driven strategies to make emergency medicine more sustainable, inclusive, and effective in the years to come.
SEMI: Leading the Charge for Emergency Care Excellence
The Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI) has been at the forefront of training, advocacy, research, and policy-making, ensuring that emergency medicine in India evolves to meet global standards. As we gather at EMCON 2025, our goal is not just to share knowledge but to shape the future of emergency care in India.
I urge every emergency physician, nurse, paramedic, researcher, and healthcare leader to be a part of this transformative conference. Let us connect, collaborate, and innovate—not just for the advancement of emergency medicine, but for the well-being of the communities we serve.
Because at the heart of emergency medicine lies a simple yet profound truth:
We don’t just save lives. We sustain them. We protect them. We empower them.
Join us at EMCON 2025, where together, we will redefine the future of emergency care.
See you in New Delhi!
Dr. Sowjanya Patibandla
National President, Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI)
